Studio Guidelines & Info

We want every dancer and family to feel at home in our studio! Below you'll find a quick overview of our most important guidelines. A full Student/Parent Handbook with all details, waivers, and policies must be agreed upon prior to registering for classes on Studio Pro. You can find a link to the full MDA Studio Guidelines/Parent Handbook at the bottom of this page.

Studio Values:

*  Respect teachers, fellow dancers, and the studio space.

*  Encourage and support one another.

*  Dance with passion, positivity, and kindness!

Dress Code:

*  Solid-colored (any color), fitted dance/athletic wear is required for all dancers.

*  Adult students may wear whatever they feel comfortable in, but fitted attire is preferred.

*  Proper shoes are required for all classes (pink canvas split-soled ballet slippers for ballet classes and tan split-soled jazz shoes for jazz classes).

*  Hair must be pulled back and secured away from face.

Attendance & Punctuality:

*  Regular attendance helps dancers progress and feel confident.

*  Always arrive on time, dressed and ready for class.

*  Please notify the studio if the dancer(s) will be absent.

*  Students should stay home if they have had fever or contagious symptoms within 24 hours prior to class.

*  Refunds are not issued for absences, but students are welcome to attend a comparable class on another day or time, if available.

Drop-Off & Pick-Up:

*  For safety, dancers should not be left unattended before or after class.

*  Please be prompt at pick-up.

Calendar:

*  We are closed for major holidays and the following dates:

     October 31

     November 24 - 28

     December 22 - January 2

Inclement Weather Policy:

*  We follow Pulaski County Special School District for weather closings.

*  Updates will be posted via email and parent portal.

*  Refunds are not issued for inclement weather closings.

Recital:

*  Most classes will perform in the recital (unless otherwise stated in the class description).

*  Recital location, date, and time are to-be-determined, but will be in mid to late May.

Communication:

*  The best way to communicate is through email (maumelledanceacademy@gmail.com)

*  Most updates and announcements will be emailed, but there will be occasional paper handouts.
